Training Contract Question

I work in a big 4 company, I absolutely despise audit and was wondering what the minimum time is to qualify for the CA is.

I only have my FAEs to do this year and if they are successful I will have been working for 2 years. Is the extra year and a half absolutely necessary does anyone know or is that just a guideline?

Also would be possible to qualify if you left your training contract and got a job abroad with a big four/accountancy/finance firm?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

CAI require you to do 3/3.5 years, depending on whether you have a masters. Won't get the qualification without the relevent experience.

Accounting masters? Or can it be finance?

It can only be a Macc as far as I know that will give you a 3 yr training contract as opposed to 3.5yr contract.
My advice is to get your FAE (not easy) then look to transfer departments unless you really cannot stand it that is.

It's only 3 years for a Masters which gives you full exemptions from CAP2/old Prof 3 exams.
For ease of reference, whatever length the training contract you signed is how long you are obliged to stay for to get the qualification. Big 4 firms do not tend to give trainees contracts any longer than the minimum.
