    Hi folks,

I've noticed a weird sound from the engine of our 2005 Superb 1.9 diesel recently.

I've attached a video: hopefully you can make out the sound over the normal diesel chug.

I'm sorry I'm a bit clueless. Is this normal?

Btw: full service with water pump and timing belt done last May.

    Cheers,
    Quad

It could be the alternator belt tensioner, done a few on the 1.9 TDI.

Could also be the overrun pulley on the alternator about £30 on ebay but need a special tool to remove so probably as cheap to take it to alternator/starter repair fella.
