Hi everyone, I was just wondering if a jg 416 take a standard m4 hop-up chamber. The feedind part is seperate so that is whats causing the confusion. Here is the gun:

Here is the hop-up chamber that is in it.

So i am wondering if a standard m4 hop-up chamber will fit.

The two piece hopup chamber is the older style M4 Marui unit. Like you said, the feed tube is seperate.
Changing to a one piece unit can and has been done but it could be tricky and irreversable. The main issue I'd see is having to remove the mount which the feed tube is screwed onto.
Once removed it's gone for good - so be very careful or you'll be looking for a new lower receiver. Personally I wouldnt bother. From memory KWA's still use 2 piece chambers and my TM SR16 also uses the same unit. Mega performance on it too...

Why do you want to change it?

I bought the gun broken, fixed it up but there is no hop-up chamber in it?

No hopup chamber at all or you just have the top half as in your pic?

If you have the top half then you just need the feed base >
    Looks like this - http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/upgrade-part/parts-upgrade-aeg/hop-up-enhancements/prometheus-bullet-feed-base-for-m4-m16-aeg.html
I wouldnt bother with something as expensive or unecessary at it but TM/CA do two-piece chambers which should be the same and might be easy to get

I'd imagine any parts graveyard in some of the shops should have such a beast...

I have the bottom half but not the top. Would it be possible to unscrew the bottom half and then put in a normal m4 hop-up chamber?

    Thanks

To use a "normal" hop-up unit you need to remove some of the lower receiver and as Defenderdude said it is a one-way job, once the material in the lower receiver is gone its gone

Ehobby have the TM version here which should fit or you could fit a Guarder one but it just appears to be the main body and you would have to transfer your existing adjustment wheel, arm etc on to it

Ah right, thanks alot for that lads. I'm going to ask around and ring a few retailers to see if they have the part and if not I will fit the standard m4 hop up unit.

    Appreciate the advice.
