    icon4.gifInterference on iPhone
Hi. I have a 2008 E60 BMW 520D fitted with factory fitted cradle with iPhone adapter for iPhone 4. I have paired the phone as per instructions and it shows up on the system. my problem is there appears to be a lot of interference during phone calls. It sound like a "crackle" every few seconds. The car has been updated with latest software by BMW but the problem is still there. I didn't want to raise the issue during service because of the potential cost of a fault finding expedition!! Has anyone any suggestion on wher to start with curing this annoying problem. I;m being told by callers ther sounds to be an echo from my phone in the car. My iPhone also has latest software updates. Thanks in anticipation.

first off i would try run the system without the phone connected to the cradle. my dad as OEM bluetooth in his E60 but didnt get the cradle as he drops and breaks phones like their going out of fashion!

Anyway when i drive the car with my iPhone 4 its perfect, never one problem. Phone would be in my pocket mostly, so maybe try that to see how it responds.

And for comparison, my E39 has OEM bluetooth, and i dont have the cradle for the iPhone 4 (none available actually) and it works perfect without any interferance.

    Worth a try.

Many thanks for your reply. I have tried it without the cradle and it still makes backround noises and seems to cut off bits of conversation. I usually onlly use the cradle to charge orimprove reception at times. If I put it in the cradle I usually forge to take it with me with I park. I would still prefer it to be working properly though. I had a Parrot 3100 in my last car for seven years without any problems.
