Query regarding resignation notice period versus redundancy

Will try and make this quick/simple!

Say I have an employment contract, where the notice period I must give to my employer should I wish to resign is three months.
Now say my employer was in a redundancy consultancy period, but that it was likely they would be serving redundancy notice (1 month) to everyone on X date.
If I hand in my resignation notice before X date, am I entitled to my full three months notice period (either to work those three months, or be paid that notice period in leu)?

I don't know the answer to your question but two things occur:

If you quit you're not going to get redundancy

If that doesn't matter because you're there less than a year - aren't you a bit scuppered because they can just let you go?

Not a legal analysis just one from experience hiring and firing (guided by an HR dept).
