ACCA advice needed: sitting F7 and P2 together?

    Hi all,

Am new to ACCA and need some advice please!

I'm exempt from all the F papers, except F7. And I need to do all the P papers too.

Does it make sense to sit F7 and P2 together, as they build on eachother?

I know it used to be the case that you had to pass F7 before you sat P2, as the exams were held on the same day. But that's not the case anymore and I can't see anything on the website about having to pass F7 before sitting P2.

I just think it would make sense to sit them together, as I would be studying the same type topics for both. Obviously P2 would be more advanced. Or am I completely misguided to think that?

Also, am doing home study (paying for these myself so lectures not an option!) so would ye recommend BPP or Kaplan? I've heard Kaplan are better?

Thanks a million for any advice ye can give me....much appreciated!! :)

Do F7 & P1 and save yourself the grief

They do follow on from each other but I found them both really difficult so, as previously advised, maybe F7 and P1 and then P2 in December.

I know you've said lectures are not an option but I would advise at least doing a revision course in F7 and P2 as they are (in my opinion) fairly difficult to get your head around on your own and just from a textbook.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

    Thanks for the replies!

So bad idea to do them together ye think. I just thought it would save time as some of the topics might overlap

Am going to do 4 exams this year, what would ye think of F7 and P3 together in June, and then P1 and P2 together in Dec? Sorry about all the questions but am a very indecisive person!! :D

I don't really wanna do P1 with F7 as I want to get one of the harder P's out of the way first...and do P1 with a harder paper in Dec (ie P3 and P1, or P2 and P1)

Yeah will deffo do a revision course anyways

Thanks again for your help :)

I totally agree that you should not do F7 and P2 together.

F7/P3 for June and P1/P2 for December sounds reasonable

Then you get to choose your options papers.

Lots of fun to be had there.:)
