    Hey all,

I'm just back from a cycle in which I did 53km in 2hours 8minutes and it feels like a sh!te cycle...

Is this a normal feeling to have? I normally do 32/40km trips and have done a couple of 60kms(did them in 2hours 17minutes)...

I have started training for the Ring of Kerry which I want to do in 6hours 30minutes and after today's cycle I just feel like sh!te...

I'll probably look back at this thread in a few hours and feel stupid, but just wondering what ye boardies do after a cycle you feel was Sh!te...

Must be the weather or time of year but I'm just back in from a 45Km ish spin and feel the same It was the worst time I've had on a bike in the 12 months since I started.
My garmin messed up the start, I got harassed by dogs at least 5 times, I was cold and I felt really slow all ride. Had trouble getting breath in on the hills and really could not wait to get home.

    At least it didn't rain...

The weather definitely dose not help and everyone has off days! but the next day you wont feel as sh!te after!

I find if im out on my own a mp3/radio in one ear helps!

as for the ring of kerry, if you keep getting the miles in it will be no prob!

It seems fairly breezy at the moment, so bearing that in mind, 25km/h solo is not bad going.

I cannot advise about what to do emotionally though. I always feel great after a spin. Just getting out into the fresh air does it for me. If I do a good time then so much the better. And yeah, I have those days where the legs just don't seem to have the same power, but I know that this will pass, so I take it easier, increase my cadence, and settle for a lower speed.

I also vary my routes to keep the interest.

For leisure/training spins I try to head out into the wind so that I've got the wind assistance for my return.

Alternatively, be inspired by colm murrays battle with MND, and get back out tomorrow :)

Days with and days without. Pat yourself on the back for sticking with it rather than feeling crap for feeling crap. That happens to everyone.

The end of september i did a 30km causal spin and half way thru I wanted to ditch the bike and felt like giving up for good.
The end of october i did a 120km power fest in the mountains and it wasn't a bother
Last weekend I did 50km and I felt and still feel like ****...

Suppose its just form, sometimes you have it, sometime you don't... probably is because of sleep, diet and psychological stuff too at and around the time too

I've stopped caring and started to enjoy, I know this stance will eventually change but meh.

I get those days when cycling and now when I'm running. Sometimes you can put your finger on a certain reason (weather, lack of rest, excess pintage), and sometimes you can't. What I tell myself though, is that its those tough crappy days that will really stand to you on the day that counts, be that ROK or whatever. You're certainly not alone!

Ive ditched my computer and go a helluva lot better for it...

I totally switch off when people begin coversations with "Well my Garmin Said" or I can usually go from A to B in 2hrs 17.326 -why did I take 2hrs 17.702 today...! A load of bull that chat

Just go out and if you are going bad just get over yourself for everyday is different on a bike - Just like life .. Days you feel good days you feel bad and things some times get in your way and other times things go well !

Forget what happened today - Go out tommorrow with a clean sheet !
