    Hi there,

First off im not sure where to put this thread but i was wondering if any of you guys have any knowledge?

Currently i am in a FAS course studying IT applications and business communications because i couldn't find any work.

    I get paid 188.00 euro a week

I recently applied for a Internship with a Software Development company in Dundalk and had the Interview today and they where really impressed and they gave me an assignment to do for Monday which if i get done i get the internship. :D:D

The internship is run by FAS and it says

You will get an allowance equivalent to your current social welfare payment and you will get an internship allowance of €50 per week.

My old rate when i was on the live register is 100 euro a week.

Im wondering will the Internship pay me 150 euro a week or 238 euro a week.

Like will it revert to my old rate before the FAS course or Stay at the new rate plus the 50?

    Any ideas?

    thanks

If it's through FAS and you're getting €188 dole from the course then you should be bumped up to €238, I think.

Are you living at home with the parents?

Better ringing someone at FAS or talk to the guys over at the State Benefits forum

AH Answer: You lowlife dole sponger leeching on society and are 100% responsible for everything that's wrong in Ireland............including the weather and the scrape I got on my nose.

The internship will pay you €150 it's your normal dole plus an extra €50 top up. Fas can pay you the full €188 but internships can't. Also this post would have been better off in state benefits

OP are you finished the FAS course? You can't go straight from FAS to Jobbridge:

In order to be eligible to participate in JobBridge – the National Internship Scheme an
    individual must be:
    • Currently in receipt of a live claim (Jobseekers Allowance/Jobseekers
Benefit/Signing for Credits) on the Live Register
    • And have been in receipt of Jobseekers Benefit, Jobseekers Allowance or
signing for Social Insurance Contribution Credits for a total of 3 months (78
days) or more in the last 6 months.
Periods spent on Back to Education Allowance, VTOS, FÁS/Fáilte Ireland Training
courses, Youthreach, FIT, Community Employment Schemes, TUS, the Rural Social
Scheme, Back to Work Scheme, Back to Work Enterprise Allowance, FÁS Job
Initiative or Job Assist will count towards meeting the eligibility of JobBridge,
    provided:
    • The individual has completed these programmes
    • Has signed back on to the Live Register
    • Is in receipt of Jobseekers Benefit/Allowance or Jobseeker credits
    immediately before commencing on JobBridge.
Commencement on the internship is dependant on DSP confirming the individual’s
    eligibility

So you need to reestablish your entitlement to Jobseekers to qualify, on Jobseeker's if your rate of pay is €100 you will receive €150 while on the internship.
