41.9 degrees in Perth today so I sat in the aircon all day like a lot of people.

Currently a thunder and lightning storm outside which looks very cool.

We're off to see The Wizard....... to put a few shrimp on the barby while we crack open a few tinnies and have a good ole yabba with Sheila and Bruce and say G'Day to their mates. Fair dinkum it'll be bonzer.

Phew, my brain hurts. Not bad though seeing as I've never been to Oz and haven't seen Home and Away in at least 8 years.

    Some Aussies weren't happy.:(

    Australian PM stumbles amid protest

Australian prime minister Julia Gillard stumbled and was caught by a security guard as riot police helped her force a path through a crowd of rowdy protesters during a ceremony to mark Australia’s national day.
Some 200 supporters of indigenous rights surrounded a Canberra restaurant and banged its windows today while Ms Gillard and opposition leader Tony Abbott were inside officiating at an award ceremony.

Around 50 police escorted the political leaders from a side door to a car.

Ms Gillard stumbled, losing a shoe. Her personal security guard wrapped his arms around her and supported her to the waiting car, shielding her from the angry crowd.

Australia Day marks the arrival of the first British colonists in 1788. Many Aborigines call it Invasion Day.

Looks like a bodyguard copped a good feel of the PM.:D For a minute I thought it was Sean Gallagher, who had found a new vocation in life after the Irish electorate told him he was "out".;)

    Happy Invasion Day

I guess if you're given a 20,000 year head start and you achieve nothing beyond chucking spears and worshiping ghosts in caves then you're just asking to be invaded.

    Moar moosic

    Now you're off in Australia
    Have you opened new doors
We said keep in touch but we don't write so much
Have we nothing to say any more

There were tears at the airport
    There were jokes and goodbyes
We said it is clear, just the whiskey and beer
    Gone to water our eyes

Does the food taste so good there
Does the air smell so sweet
    Is there greener grass
    Water clear as glass
    Does your life feel complete?

They didn't need to achieve anything more. They already had all they needed perfectly adpted to living in one of the most inhospitale land on the planet in harmony with nature.
