    Hi all,

Current laptop is 5 years old and incredibly slow nowadays so much so it takes over 10mins to turn on even.

Anyway have tried defragging etc and still no joy so new laptop it is.

So what I need it for:
    • Internet
    • Word, Excel etc..
    • Itunes (not a lot but every now and then)
    • CD Burner for the odd song from Itunes I want on CD (rare occassion but nice to have the option)
    • Football Manager (really important that one :D)
    • WIFI (presumably standard on machines these days but worth mentioning incase its not)
What I dont need it for:
    • I dont download a lot of music or movies or that so massive hard drive isnt that important I'd imagine.
    • Dont play a lot of games either (have Xbox360 which suits me) other than FM as mentioned so I dont know how that affects what spec to get.
    • A friend said to get 4 gigs of Ram at least so other than that can someone recommend me a laptop??
    cheaper the better!!

    Sales??

    Links??

    Thanks a mil.

murphyebass- You need laptop for very basic tasks, Football Manager doesn't require strong machine, so maybe better idea is to bring your old laptop back to working order? If you have 5 years old windows, defragging wont help. You need fresh custom installation of Windows with tuneup, light antivirus, maybe some more RAM, dust cleaning and you would be amazed how fast your old laptop could be.
Anyway to answer your question and following your requirements- any cheapest laptop will be good for you.

What are the specs on the old laptop? Unless they were top end back then, I would probably recommend a new one.
