hi, looking to freshen up living room by changing colour on the walls. at the minute there is one wall red where fireplace is and rest is a cream colour. sick of the red now!
Have alot of mexican pine furniture in the room including the fireplace is mexican pine. floors are pine and there is black leather 3 piece.
Room doesn't get a huge amount of sunlight and it can be quite a cold room as a result.
any inspiration? was thinking a deep purple on the one wall and then thought maybe shades of green like olive with the pine and black leather would brighten it up a bit?

Just done a room in Jasmine White.... nice neutral. Bring colour into room with cushions etc if you wish. Red not good for living with but grand for a hall.

Pine has quite a yellow tinge to it so it might be nice to tone it down with something. Purple is on the opposite of the colour wheel to yellow so if you go with purple you'll get an intense colour scheme. Green on the other hand sits close to yellow and so you'll get a more calming effect if you team these two colours together.

If you're room gets little light you can afford to go for brighter shades of a colour. Colours that are too pale will appear greyer in a room with less natural daylight.

    Hope that helps.
