Who here's keeping a blog on writing?

Does anyone here write or regularly read a creative writing blog or a blog about literature or even the arts?

I'm thinking of starting one but I am concerned about the time it will take and what I'd be able to post and how to engage with readers if they even arrive.

Anyone here care to offer advice? Has it benefitted you or your writing in any way or even drawn attention to your work?

    Cheers

I do have a blog, but it tends to be about all sorts of things: polishing a pitch for the ABNA, laid-back breastfeeding, recipes for low carb ice-cream, great first lines of novels, whatever I'm interested in and that won't take a lot of time to write.

Most of the readers comments tend to be things like "Interesting". I get the occasional e-mail through the website asking about technical stuff, but not on the website.

This idea might not appeal to you, but have you thought about using Twitter? You can follow lots of relevant people, and update with random writing thoughts and stuff. It could be a good way to get used to regularly updating online. And if you want to expand into a blog, you could advertise on your Twitter page too.

Can you recommend some good authors/people in the industry to follow?

I've mostly news sites on my Twitter feed, which I rarely use.
