Adjusting Glasses

Just picked up glasses from Specsavers. These are the glasses I got which are wrap around glasses so have straight arms.

They adjusted the frame to tighten them (wasn't sure what it meant so I said if they thought it needed it then do).

Both arms of the frame were straight beforehand but now one side has a bend downwards so if I take off my glasses it looks like the glasses are damaged and it is most noticeable if I leave my glasses on the table. I have only just noticed this now as I didn't notice it in the store.

Is it normal to bend glass frames that have straight plastic arms like that? Wouldnt car so much only I paid 189 euro for the glasses (so they are not cheap in my book) and am not entirely happy that they are bent on one side (or at all for that matter as they looked much better just straight - the way they were meant to be).

Would it be reasonable to go back and have it straightened or is it normal to bend straight arm/wrap around frames like this (on just one side too)?

nice spx. But in answer to your question; no the arms of the glasses should be straight. They're supposed to grip the skull around the squamosal suture if I remember my anatomy correctly. Get them to straighten them and adjust the tightness at the joint or the tip. They should hopefully work for you then.

But to be honest the optical assistant should not have made the mistake of simply bending one.

    Best of luck

Are those Quicksilvers? Yeah, I think alot of those are wraparound and don't need bending at the ear.

Although looking at the picture, I'm not sure. Could be either, one thing for certain she shouldn't have bent one arm and left the other straight - unless you have one abnormally placed ear on your head!

Found them on SS website, in the image they're straight, whereas other frames have bent arms - so that would indicate to me anyway that she shouldn't have bent them

Thanks for the replies. Went in last night and another assistant there fixed them and just tightened them inwards instead but didnt bend them in an obvious way.
