    Hi

I got a bit of a shock tonight after football. Just stopped outside a spar on the way home to pick up something to eat. Long day at work !!! Anyway as soon as i stepped out of the car a young guy with a hoodie steps up with another 2 standing behind me. He shows me the knife and says give me your mobile phone or i'll stab ya. What i did was probably stupid but i just jumped and ran. My initial reaction was to just get out of there. Just wondering if what i did was stupid ??

Thanks for the comments guys. Actually quite shocked. First time anything like that happened to me !! I didn't even have the phone on me. It was in my bag in the car. Just a wallet !! Just thinking i should have actually stopped and thought and just handed over the wallet. Suppose i'm just thinking of the consequences if he did actually do it. But in reality don't think the little scumbag had any intentions. Thanks again.

Go to guards asap. It could be on CCTV and they might get caught.

Running is the right thing to do when faced with someone with a knife, it's not a gun, it's only dangerous in close quarters. As long as you aren't cornered removing yourself from the situation is your best defense.

One thing that you can do to stay safer in a such a situation is to carry a wallet a few quid in it that you can throw away as you run. That way the mugger is even less likely to chase as they think they have what they want.
