Looks like there's been some changes with Saorview's, attitude in relation to the use of the saorview logo from one of the recognized body's web site ?
    www.isaa.tv

The new merged logo will be available for members to use :

    On their Vans,

    Their website,

    And their Information flyer’s etc.

Now members of the bodies can officially use the new merged ‘Saorview’ logo to advertise to the consumer that they are officially recognised by ‘Saorview’ as competent installers.

Anyone else aware of the above ?, if true GREAT for the professional installer.

Can saorview Brian confirm the above ?

. . . and (from the same page)
There are no ‘Saorview approved installers’ .

‘Saorview’ only approve reception equipment, ie TV’s and set top boxes.

Thread title should be 'Installers belonging to Saorview recognised trade bodies allowed use Saorview logo'

ISAA was already 'recognised by Saorview'.

It's just a Saorview permitted logo change and no other change with a poorly worded Press release.

Saorview doesn't approve any installers that's up to any National body with competence tests and standards.

Saorview / RTE / RTENL decided they needed to recognise a minimum of three such bodies:
    See http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/installers/
    Finding an Installer

The aerial installation trade in Ireland is unregulated at present. SAORVIEW is not in a position to establish the competence of any aerial installer and therefore there is no such thing as a SAROVIEW installer. However, SAORVIEW can direct you to a number of trade bodies with competence in this area who undertake vetting and registration of their members. If you require an aerial installer, the following organisations are recognised by SAORVIEW will be able to provide you with a list of registered members in your area.

    Confederation of Aerial Industries Ltd.
    Irish Satellite and Aerial Association
    National Guild of Master Craftsmen

    http://www.isaa.tv/isaamap.htm

    http://www.nationalguild.ie/

The list is of course alphabetic and RTE/Saorview will not tell you their relative opinion of the three.

Having the Logos merge is still not going to stop all non recognised installers, double jobbers, and so called Saorview Approved reps/Installers using the saorview logo on their vans, A4 flyers, done-deal adds, Adverts.ie and business cards. South east Radio still has a Add on every morning for a guy who is not an Approved Retailer selling saorview (XORO BOXES). And RTE/SAORVIEW know about this radio add and have not done anything to stop it????. Why don't Saorview/RTE set up a map on their website like the map for Approved product retailers only this new map would have all the Registered/Recognised installers in every county and which approved body they are signed to. This is something the CAI, ISAA, and the National Guild should be pushing Hard at Ray Maguire/Saorview.

The Limerick Post has two major Retailers advertising Panasonic as Saorview.

ASAI is worse than a Chocolate teapot. They ruled that Three could call their Mobile Service "Broadband" (The examples and stats Three supplied was for Fixed Wireless that Three don't have).

The aerial installation trade is unregulated in Ireland. Therefore, SAORVIEW is not in a position to register installers. Following approaches from three separate bodies, we have entered into agreements with the CAI, ISAA, and the National Guild of Master Craftsmen. Those bodies assess the competence of installers and ensure that they meet a basic set of criteria before accepting them for membership. SAORVIEW references these three bodies as having members who are competent installers. All three bodies are treated on the same basis by SAORVIEW.

    Regards,

    SAORVIEW Brian.
