I have a Sky+ multiroom subs with an HD box in one room & a sky+ in the other. however, I've just been given another Sky+ box and wanted to hook it up in the kids bedroom. I have an octo LNB.

I know that under a sky contract you cant have more than two boxes for multiroom, but if I use the extra sky+ box just for free channels, will it cause any probs with my sky subs ?

    Nope . should work fine,

no pause record though unless you have it included in multiroom.

As its for kids in a bedroom, without the card, you wont have the option of pin locking the adult type channels. You mightnt be keen on that for kids under 16 (or 66 depending on your opinion). A FTA box in this case would be a little more secure or get a FTV card.

How much are SKY charging extra per point per month? The sky site says 15 Euro ! UPC charge 8.50 per month.
So 1 main point and 2 extra on multiroom must be pricey no?

As far as I know you can't exceed two boxes on multi room ?

You can have as many boxes as you want on a multiroom account no problem so long as they are connected to an active telephone line, there is no limit to 2 boxes.

I have done many multiroom installs with 3-4 sky plus boxes and a few standard boxes, only problem is there bill which is insane..

If you are an existing customer, a multiroom sub is €15 per box

If signing up as a new customer multiroom subs are €10 per box for the first 12 months.

I just added more boxes to my package, 4 boxes was the maximum allowed, one at full price and 3 at 15 euro each.

I have put 5 boxes in last week for a cousin of mine, 3 sky plus boxes and 2 standard boxes, had to speak to a supervisor to authorise it which took a few minutes but all done now no problems...
