Music and Ideas for wedding reception drinks

    Hello
    Me and my OH personally think its a waste of money to pay for someone to stand in a corner and sing while all the guests are busy chatting and probably wnt even notice that theres someone playing live so I have decided to use their very good surround system and I am going to do up a playlist on mp3 player for the reception and another for the meal
    We get to have our own choice of music playing which I think is better :)
    Any have any suggestions on songs? I think the likes of love songs / modern songs with upbeat will generally cover it :)

    My next query is ideas for reception to make it more personal. We dnt want it to look like we're throwing money at it
    The OH saw these personalised plastic cups that u can buy and have them for the punch. I think they look a little tacky, ideas appreciated

    I'd go with music from your own collection: have stuff you like listening to!

    For the personal touch, myself and o/h are hoping to get the hotel to allow us to provide our own cupcakes for the reception: other half is big into her baking and has ideas to make cupcakes that colour-co-ordinate with our theme etc.
