Query about Garmin 800 file size

    I was just wondering does anybody the maximim file size for a garmin 800? And would a large file make the device slower?

    I'm crewing for Joe Barr in RAAM this year and i'm just wondering whether to split the route into stages as i did last year or whether to use one large map. The route is 3,000 miles so not sure how feasible this is.
