I downloaded MapMyRun+ for my Galaxy S2 a couple of weeks ago.
I'm sure it could do more with splits etc, but I have the phone in my pocket in a sandwich bag to protect it from rain/sweat, so don't bother with splits.

Its basically acting like a GPS watch would and is tied in with the site Mapmyrun. There's also MapMyFitness+ from the same crowd, though I'm not sure what the difference is between the two.

Upload that excel doc to google docs. Doesn't matter where you update the doc, it'll be up to date wherever you open it. Handy.

I think you left out text there. Share it where? You can make it public, for others to see, and post a link on the training log pages for example.

As a professional footballer, you'd think the staff @ Aston Villa would have a dietician you could turn to for advice on your food intake, or did I get the wrong R Dunne? ;)

A spreadsheet is best as you own the data and should you need to upgrade your phone or the app no longer works then its ok. Also you can update it from anywhere.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Alh6ofJoLlpTdGRrWmZudlQ0S0FpdFFQMFFVU3htWEE&hl=en_GB#gid=40

Is my latest template format I use.

thats a very good spreadsheet that you have made out there. Mine isnt as detailed as that. Would probably be putting in the details for swimming and cycling together with a bit of core training along with the running.. as well as diet..

How do you access google docs then on your phone??

you can edit google docs on most phones or there are apps that make it easier. or with android http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAr5VoYdVBo&feature=player_embedded#!

Whatever you use you should be able to export your data to use it elsewhere.

Can you put in a password protection on the file as well on the google docs or is it really necessary ( as its protected already - ie would i have to log out of google docs from android each time?)

row 1 should be month number is 2 digit format but i never used it. Then for example the following would work =Round(ARRAYFORMULA(SUM(IF(TEXT('2012'!$A$2:$A$5000; "yyyyMM")=QUERY( $A$3&B1 ),'2012'!$C$2:$C$5000)))) where 2012 column A is date (Use the date formater on the column) and column C (use the number to 2 decimal points on this column)is distance. basicall i check that the year in yyyy (four digit )format and month in MM (2 digit) is equal to A3 concatenated with B1 . Then i reference A3 as $A$3 as that value will not change for each month only the month value in B1, B2,B3 so then I can drag the formula across for each month of the year. i fixed 2011 now so you can see what I was actualy trying to do.

Rom, thanks for that. Worked perfectly.
