    Howdy all.

Just wondering does anybody have any dealings with these peoples ?

the father is looking at this and trading in the old 98 vectra for €300 and getting a '00 vectra for €1K

exact same car except the 00 is silver and hatchback form but everything is the same.

now i know what your all thinking ""why oh why get another vectra" well theres no talking sense into this idiot to be honest.

so any advice with this crowd all

looked for the car on their site but they took it down.

There's a few threads about them on here, mostly negative, I bought a car off them years ago and it was fine.

Hi all im new to boards so not sure if im posting this correctly. I bought a car from green isle autos just in march this year. It came with 3 month warranty and now two months in engine is overheating, blowers not blowing hot air and one bulb is gone. Tried to contact them only to find out that they have ceased trading a month ago??? Im really not sure they have gone and might have just been given the brush off!! How do i find out if they are really gone and what sort of comeback do i have? Would someone have taken over the warranty? Thanks a mill for your advice

    Hi and welcome newby:)

The bulbs wouldn't be covered and sounds like a thermostat is gone.
You would only be covered under the warranty for engine failure or gearbox failure usually anything else would be very difficult.
Did you go down to where you bought the car to see?

Hi thanks for your comment, i was checking the warranty and the cooling system is covered so hoping that was it? Bulbs are fine cheap to replace myself but my concern is that they havent really ceased and just fobbing me off, so i would like to know where i could find out if they have actually ceased trading because if they havnt il be going after them. I live a bit away from tallaght so cant get there but will take a spin down the weekend to see if they're still there. Thanks again for any help re ceased trading query

What car did you buy there can I ask? A few months ago I went to look at a Skoda Fabia there and it had a Temp warning on the dash on the test drive. Needless to say I walked away as I was cautious going there in the first place after all the bad comments about it on here.

Did you get a third party warranty (eg. Mapfre)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 Sarah011

It was a clio i bought, nothing wrong at test drive.

Il check the small print on warranty again for third party, thanks for tip

It'd be on the big print. As in a seperate company covers the car for the period (come to think of it, if its 3 months its most likely their own warranty)

Ok thanks guys, does anyone know how i would find out officially if a company has wound up or ceased trading etc.

Keep it topped up with coolant/water every day when it's cooled down, driving it a long distance overheating will cause serious damage which the garage could use to get out of warranty cover if indeed they are still in business. Get a local mechanic to do diagnosis first ( not plug in diagnosis) old fashioned way.

Think they have just changed name operating from same place

To be blunt, I think you'd be better off getting the car fixed properly at your own expense than to be chasing this crowd, who - (if you were to believe the reports by other users) offer the same level of aftercare now that they're not in business.

I have been doing some digging online, and it seems this crowd register their business and then wind up every few months, restart the business under a new name and so on again and again. There is probably no law against this, feel like I should be writing to Anne Robinson to sort this one out!!!! I'm sure they're dodging a lot of bullets operating with scam. So very unfair...wish there was somewhere i could publicly post a notice to make people be aware of these guys ..... grrrrrrr :(

Nothing stopping you putting warnings on the net and stating where it is and what they trade as or previous,
I looked up and found they have 172 cars on carbuyersguide.

Whatever you do steer clear of these cowboys. Bought a car in good faith then it broke down, covered it under warranty then it broke again and they wouldnt cover it,if u buy something off these guys be very wary and if something does goe wrong u will be up Tallght creek without a paddle, you have been warned

These guys should be out of work they do not sell any cars that are worth even a second look they are now trading as RBS MOTORS GREENHILLS ROADS off the walkinstown roundabout.
Please please please do not deal with them I have had nothing but trouble since I got a car of them! it has been the most stressful time no one should worry about there car as must as we have!
