WWE Friday Night Smackdown - Taped for January 27, 2012 (SPOILERS)

    1. Big Show cut a promo offering an apology to AJ Lee aka Daniel Bryan's 95lb girlfriend, for running her over a couple of weeks ago. Big Show says as a kid,he hurt others because he didn't know his own strength and hinted at retiring, given how bad he feels. Daniel Bryan comes out and rips Big Show apart yet again, like he did on Raw the last couple of weeks. Good heat here. Bryan bitch slaps Big Show, but before Show can do anything, Henry comes out to remind them that they'll be in the Hall of Pain this Sunday night at the Royal Rumble PPV. He talked about their triple threat steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Title until...
    2. Teddy Long booked Big Show vs. Mark Henry and Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton as our main events.

    3. WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes def. Justin Gabriel (again) in a non-title match.
    4. Sheamus def. Drew McIntyre.

    5. Primo and Epico (w/ Rosa Mendes) def. Santino Marella and Yoshi Tatsu.
    6. Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett ended in a no contest after they brawled.
    7. Hunico def. Ted DiBiase. (DiBiase suffered a wrist injury)
    8. Brodus Clay def. Alex Riley. Poor A-Ry.
    9. Divas: Aksana upset Natalya with a fast rollup. Nattie went nuts and Tamina made the save. Lame.
    10. Big Show def. Mark Henry via countout after Henry got himself intentionally counted out. Bryan beat up Show with a chair, but Show recovered and knocked his ass out. Looks like Bryan is definitely a heel now.

Strikes me that Orton vs Barrett in a last man standing or similiar gimmick match at Mania would make more sense.

Natalya lost again this time to Aksana

I hope Sheamus vs McIntyre wasn't a squash

also thankfully they had Barrett vs Orton as a no contest. I'd like to seem them feud through to Mania at least.

Just wondering if anyone else thinks that the use of diva's like AJ and Eve on RAW would make them more watchable during bouts? like I know i would be more inclined to watch a match with eve because of the rub from the segments with Ryder and the same with AJ and Bryan

Still no Christian yet he better be coming back Sunday. At least Bryan wasn't in a dq finish this week, its obvious that he'll win the triple threat cage match by escape.

Him winning the rumble would be so awesome :)

Gosh that Natalya segment was a well thought-out piece of television. *cough*

Erm, I posted this in the wrong thread last night -

Daniel Bryan is just so good, between himself Sheamus, Henry, Show, Orton and Cody smackdowns roster is really getting strong. I'm sure it will be ripped to shreds come the Draft!

it would be great if he ditched AJ for Kaitlyn. They need to get Kaitlyn on my TV more often.

have to say I am also a big fan of Hunico. He portrays a very convincing persona and he can wrestle to boot.

I thought the ending was really good, especially when it the main event finished so oddly.

Cole talking about how it sometimes takes time for talent to emerge and to give talent a chance made me LOL.

What was with Natalya farting loudly? They must be really trying to humiliate her or something!

Friday's WWE Smackdown television show drew a 2.11 rating, down from the 2.14 the week before. The show averaged 3.141 million viewers.

Orton's return = slight ratings dip!

Still a fine rating, it would be very naive to scream Bryan= ratings, but if they were down, you know the E would be pointing their finger at the "vanilla midget".
