    My garmin etrex gave up the ghost recently and I was looking for an affordable but workable android app to fill in while I organise a repair.
    Came across Viewranger which allows you to download OSI map tiles for about €25 for 5000 sqkm.
    Been using it for a few weeks and pretty happy with it. Actually prefer using it to the better resolution of the OSM/SMC version I used on the etrex.
