Do you suffer from osteoarthritis or know somebody who does?

The Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI) at NUI Galway is looking for patients who would like to participate in two outreach weekends to be held in March 2012 (3rd/4th and 24th/25th).

This outreach project is part of the EU-funded GAMBA project(Gene Activated Matrices for Bone and Cartilage Regeneration in Arthritis). The project involves patients suffering from osteoarthritis and the general public from whom we are seeking feedback and inspiration.

During the panels the participants will be introduced to the fields of gene and stem cell therapy and will be given the opportunity to discuss their ideas and concerns with researchers and other experts. With the help of an experienced team of facilitators the participants will be able to evaluate the chances and risks, as well as the ethical and social aspects of the project and will help to draw up a "citizen opinion" which will be available for dissemination.

If you have a friend, a neighbour or a member of your family who might be interested in participating please let them know. Spaces are limited to 25 persons. All are welcome.

You can find further information on the GAMBA website http://gamba-project.eu/outreach-to-the-public/panels/patient-and-citizen-panels.

Feel free to PM me or to ask questions in this thread!
