Hi all , any tips on whether this fix can be done DIY and if yes, then how? My Polo left wiper doesnt function. Checked and it is a case of fallen out of the "ball & socket" arrangement with the right wiper. I reconnected the two together and it worked for all of one minute. So any ideas on what is the best course of action would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I've fixed the same problem on a Micra by melting the opening of the socket with a soldering iron with the ball inside, making the opening smaller and trapping the ball. Worked for as long as I had the car after that.
