Missed call stop me from getting an interview?

    I applied for a job last week, and stupid me was not watching my phone closely enough and I had a missed call from them today. By the time I noticed it was too late to call them back. How would they react if I call them up in the morning? I know I've given them a bad first impression by not answering.

    Did they leave a message ? No harm at all in calling them back.

    I'd definitely call them back - first thing; apologise for missing their call (you don't need to give a reason).

    But if you need to be told by people on a forum to chase them up, what does that say about your ambition & determination in general? I'd be all over it like a rash - but you seem laxidasical about it.

I thought maybe if they call you and you don't answer they just move on and you are scraped. Basically just wondering if I've totally blown it.

    I don't have voicemail set up on my phone so no message.

    Fair enough.

    Well call them back - they were probably trying to arrange an interview.

    And set up voicemail!! Good luck with it.

    Dont beat yourself up so much over this. It's a really trivial thing. You'll burnout if you treat everything in your job with such seriousness. Just do everything as required well and dont stress.

    They won't be pissed off with you, unless it was an arranged phone interview, which this wasn't. If you're certain it was them, ring back.

    Might be no harm to get your voicemail set up.

    This happened to me as well, don't worry, everyone misses a phone call now and then, it's not a big deal. Relax OP, I know it's stressful for the first interview :D
