Barge discount at dealer?

I'm looking at going the big engined barge route, possibly, Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS430 or Mercedes S320, the quality of those private sales are mixed but looking at the dealers there's about an additional €2k premium for the same car.

What I am wondering is what kind of a cash discount I could expect with at a car priced between €5-8k at a dealer as there's a very low market from them and some have been for sale for months.

    1500 tops.....

At the end of the day..... There's always one who'll pick it up eventually.

I would be vary of the E65 7 series in that price range.
You would want to get a facelift verion of the S class too as the earlier ones (before 03) were supposed to be troublesome.
I think the lexus would be the safest bet there.
very hard to say what discount is available. ONe dealer mght have a ball of crap that he will be happy to be shot of whereas another might have a very genuine car and he would be prepared to hold out for his price. You should do your research and work out what you would be happy to pay for a very good example and go from there

You'll get a warranty with the dealer car hence the extra cost. These cars cost a lot of money to fix when something goes wrong compared to 'normal' cars so the premium for buying from a dealer is more compared to a Focus for example.

I'd be very surprised to see a semi decent warranty on a barge....

Maybe PM Dahamsta? He was talking about shifting his 7 on. Cleanest one I've seen in a long time. Maybe he's changed his mind by now though too!

Can't bate the value to be has in luxobarge's these days! :)

Audi A8 - would love one, actually I would love an S8 but would settle for an A8 Quattro. My mechanic told me if I ever buy one I can find another 'friend' though.
BMW 7 Series - Have an E38 735 and love it. I rarely buy the same car twice but would strongly consider a late model E38 740 with all the bells and whistles. Don't like the E65 at all though and haven't heard great reports about the older models
Lexus LS430 - fine car but wouldn't be me!
    Mercedes S320 - no thanks.

There's plenty out there and as an earlier poster said you will get fcuk all warranty from any dealer with any of the above. Your best bet IMO is to go private, look for one with a fresh NCT and as always bring a mechanic. ;)

Try a nicely kept 745i with less than 100k miles on it ad give under €7,000 for it.
The 35i isn't worth the hassle it's a heavy car and the wow factor is missing!
Beahoffs in Howth have a 75k mile S350 for €8k looks nice.
