How flexible are GoBus/Citylink with tickets

If you have a ticket booked for a bus and happen to miss it (airport bus, flight might be delayed landing), will they let you get on the next bus?

    Thanks

If it is a reservation, you will really need to check their terms and conditions. It might very much depend on how busy the respective services are. Expecting to get on a peak-time service after missing a reservation on an off-peak service might not get you far.

Well with GoBus, I had to change my reservation. I emailed them and they answered within 5 minutes that it wasn't a problem and they had changed the reservation.

I expect, but don't know, that if you miss your bus they will allow you on the next if it isn't booked out, but you should call them to check this. They seem very flexible IMO, compared to Irish Rail at least.

If I'm booking, I usually book a couple of buses later than the bus I want to get. Have never yet been refused (by either company) when I turned up earlier and asked if it was ok to get this one.

I once got the day wrong on a ticket (same time, different day)

Driver either didnt notice or didnt care.

Maybe the late service they might charge ya an extra fiver - Im not sure. I recall a time years back when the last one on a Sunday was a flat 20 charge whether you wanted a return to Galway or a single to Enfield

I use Citylink all the time (Dublin/Galway).If i find myself having to change or ammend my original booking theres never a problem to be fair.Once you contact the main office in Galway the girls there are absolutely brilliant and will always do their utmost to assist. On one or two occasions where the ammendment would'nt be on the drivers list, the office staff have actually phoned the driver to inform them of same.Never had a bother and all my tickets are on line bookings.Had a drama episode trying to change a ticket with the alternative company one weekend, so as they say every cloud has a silver lining and i've made a great relationship with Citylink.Great service and staff and ,spotless, comfortable vehicles to boot.:)

Welcome to boards.ie, CityLink representative double jeopardy!

(FWIW, I'd never had a problem walking up to a GoBus coach in Dublin city, showing a booking for a later service, and getting on that one. I wouldn't even dream of ringing the office and asking - what a waste of everyone's time.)

Is this not a forum to discuss and share genuine experiences relating to different topics????? You are "Just Mary" and im Just Kevin. What authority do you have to associate me with Citylink or any firm or association for that matter.I joined Boards.ie the same as everyone else to view, share and discuss topics in a free manner. If you use it to promote or talk up companies of your liking, then thats your business. You can withdraw your previous comment also relating to me.....

Sure it's a forum to discuss, and a place where you and I have equal authority to say things, provided we're polite about it. If you think I've been impolite, use the report-post button in the left hand panel beside the post.

You're welcome to talk-up the multi-national, in the same way that I'm welcome to talk-up the locally owned-and-operated company that has an excellent reputation for customer service.

And I'm welcome to point out that when someone has just joined boards.ie and makes an over-the-top post about the service from a particular company, they are very like associated with that company. It's something we've seen here many many times, and it gets to a point where people can practically smell shilling a mile off.

I think theyre both very good TBH. Service to airport is very handy from Athlone.

Could have done with Citylink not losing the last bus eastbound but aside from that theyre never an issue. Rarely late and even then not by much

BE also have that non stop service which i like, but the pricks do pull in to towns on request of people with small bladders. No harm but they really should buy a car, get a lift or take the slow coach. Just saying...
