Let Anonymous loose on the revenue website for a few hours and they won't be long about giving up on the idea.

What would SOPA mean for newsgroups ? most of these use heavy encryption,
so it's hard to prove copyright infringement ...

So its done. this morning ACTA's been signed by 22 of the 27 EU member states in Japan. And yes, Ireland is one of them. https://twitter.com/#!/donal_cahalane/status/162488589941358592

I'm disgusted with Kenny and the rest of that sorry excuse for government that we now have. What makes it worse is that I voted for them in the misguided assumption that nothing could be worse than the last lot. :-(

But will this affect the likes of newsgroup sites ? where all traffic is heavily encrypted anyway ?

If it's on the internet, it's affected. Encryption is irrelevant. The burden of prove is on the defendant, not the prosecutor.

Also, don't be such a sponger of copyright material.
