Why did someone take the lock? And who robs a basket...shameful. Although, they did needlessly take up a bike space for a full year.

And it dissapears but nothing else at the same time, almost like someone managed to open it and reuse it.

There's a note taped to the saddle just before things start to disappear.

"I'm gonna start stripping the bike, I'll take no reply as an ok"!!

A related article on bike theft in the states - it goes on a bit but worth a scan:

The best bit is how he keeps buying stolen bikes to fight against the epidemic of stolen bikes

Anybody else find it weird that somebody would steal the lock and leave the bike? Unless they decided to unlock it for the purpose of the experiment.

Was thinking the same thing... isn't that a NYC Fahgettaboudit lock?

If that lock was stolen I'd be very interested in finding out how it happened, it's supposed to be one of the best Kryptonite locks as far as I know! But I'm guessing they probably did unlock it for the purposes of the experiment.

I'd be curious how much longer it would last if the tyres were kept pumped up!
