Complex Number and CGI Movies

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone can explain how complex numbers relate to the making of movies like shrek, or point me in the direction of a relevant resource? So far, I have only been able to find information on vectors and quaternians.

    Now I know quaternians are very closely related to complex numbers but I'm trying to develop a resource that would be suitable for second level students. Any suggestions would be a huge help.
