    Hi All.

Just looking for some advise, just wired two apartment blocks in Kildare where I live for 19e 28e with two sky dishes. Now I plan to install a 100cm dish for 13e as well as other nationalities, can anyone recommend what dishes I should be aiming for starting with 13e considering 28e and 19e are already looked after on the sky dishes.

    Thanks

A triax 80cm will work fine for 13E.

A sky dish might even work ok for 13E but I'd say others would advise against it as the signal may break up in heavy rain.

There is even still a few weaker transponders on 19 east that may give trouble on a 60cm as well.

It all depends what nationality's you want to cover. 13 east is the main position for the Polish, Italian with a handfull of Arab stations thrown in.

You could align to 16 east and offset then to 13 east on a 1-1.1m with no trouble (Long as the LNBS are not to chunky) Ive a 1.1m and Ive lnbs for 13, 16, 19, 23, 28 on it.

Thanks for the info snaps, one the sky dish I alligned for 19e and have got a 94 percent quality with a 78 signal and similar on 28E. I will have a look as to what are saying re the transponders and i'll check it out.

I think alligning to 16E may be the best idea although I was thinking of the need to service some of the lower satellites, as for LNBs, to date I have been using Inverto Black Pros, as much as I'd love the Black Ultras they seem to be three times the price when you factor in the shipping, Pros are €10.50 shipped versus €27.00 being the cheapest for the Ultra due to UK only retailers charging a high price for shipping. They seems a good compromise between cost and quality.

The bigger the dish the easier it is to fit lnbs offset on the dish arm as the spacing is much greater (Further apart), I am actually using sky MK4 quad lnbs on the end of my 1.1m Gerbitini. Not the ideal solution for a standard dish, but i am getting very satisfactory results on the spread i have, with barely any signal loss or breakups during bad weather (Apart from one very windy night when the dish was shaking in the wind!)

I wouldn't worry too much about the Astra 1 signal on some transponders, i think some of the German HD channels are on weak transponders from what i can remember, but with out data in front of me im just clutching at straws as to speak!

80cm dishes really are the minimum for all the strong satellites here, even astra 2 at 28 east, but the further you are east the better.

Going back ontopic, i think now that the new sat is at 16 east with very strong transponders now, that's a great sat to be aligned too now, with offsets for 9, 13, 19, 23.5 east. you would probably still get 28 east at a decent signal as well, but no need as you have your 60cm sky dish up for that.

That sounds a plan, at the moment we have a Polish and Albanian as the only non nationals so hopefully the dish can serve them, in the past we allowed dishes and there was serious damage done, air bricks, window frames, burst bricks and everything from clips, raw plugs to mounts left behind on the building, in the end it cost over a thousand euro to correct the damage and dishes have been banned for the two two years until this communial setup. Thanks again for all the advise, it's muc appreciated.
