Intermittent Channel Loss

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can advise me on this,

We've had real issues with our Sky/Freesat signal over the last year or two. Firstly with Sky, we had channels missing and coming back, then eventually all channels would disappear about 15 minutes after booting the box. Fed up with this and with Sky's 100euro charge (which they wouldn't relent on) to fix the issue, we decided to get rid of Sky and get Freesat installed.

With Freesat, it was going fine until yesterday when all channels disappeared. Again, they reappear when we reset the box, but only for about 15 minutes and they're gone again.

Signal strength when they're on is 100%, but when it goes, it says Lock Inidcator Not Locked and signal strength is 0%.

Any suggestions with regard to the source of the problem? Anything I've read says it could be LNB or cabling.

Poor installation perhaps? Or non-resolution of an already existing problem? What did the Freesat install involve; was it just a matter of swapping the box?

It does seem like an already existing problem alright, or we're just really unlucky! Installation was a swapping of the box and an alignment check. A particularly windy night over the winter caused all channels to disappear as well, which was solved by the engineer. He didn't explain but we assumed it was blown out of alignment. I can't remember if the same lock indicator problem was showing then.

We have the Sky box and the freesat box connected now and both are saying the same thing - 0% signal and not locked, so we know it isn't either box that's the problem.
