Been meaning to post this for a while and havent got around to it. I started my laptop recently and its as if it went back to a certain dates settings. I lost alot of files and the wallpaper + desktop items had changed. Now everytime I start the laptop its the same, if I download or install anything onto the laptop and then restart it they wont be there. It keeps resetting back and I lose what ever I previously installed or downloaded. Its as if its starting afresh everytime I start it. There was an error that popped up before saying something like cannot load profile so loaded temperary profile. Im running windows vista, anyone know what the problem is?

Sounds like something about your current profile has become corrupt. You may also have a failing hard disk. Anyways my solution would be to go into Start>Control Panel>User Accounts and make a new one. Copy all the files over from your old one into your new one and delete the old one. May solve the temporary profile issue
