Upgrading Non-unibody MBP to SSD

    Hey

    I was going to post this in building and upgrading forum but I think I'll get a better response here from someone who may have done this

    I'm looking to upgrade from an old 120GB SATA disk before it dies to an SSD.

    My spec is Intel Core 2 duo @ 2.2GHz with 4GB DDR2 RAM.
    Can my old 15" non- unibody MBP take an SSD ? And if so what kind and would I expect a big performance difference?

    Once you get an ssd that matches the sata connection on your machine I don't see why not. Lion has native support for ssd. and yes you will see a massive difference. Ssd is the best upgrade you can give a laptop IMHO

    you should consider putting some extra RAM with the SSD too, RAM is very cheap and it works side by side with the SSD. I'd recommend doing that. Also, the MBP would take the SSD no problem.
