Im looking at getting an o/u shotgun this summer. Any advice?

    Budget is max. 500 euro.

I tried out a lanber on a recommendation and it just didn't feel right. the second day using it i realised the stock was too short by about 2 inches.

Can you get the same make and model in different stock lengths?

havent got one now but my first gun was a single barrel baikal and had no trouble from it
i no lots of people that have had various different baikals over the years with no hassle from them
they are made in russia and anything that comes from russia is deigned to last

tbh theres plenty of new ****e guns in the price range your quoting
your probably better off buying a good make second hand or else go for that baikal

as above a good seckond hand gun with a quality brand name would be better than a new gun of an unknown name for the same price. them baikal's are a fair gun to last, i have seen some old baikal's and they are heavy to be carrying all day game shooting but not sure if the newer modles are a bit lighter.

The budget you have is good what are you looking for do you want to shoot Clays / or are you into Rough shooting that's the options are you joining a Club if so they may have a Member selling a Gun cheap so will save you some Money also you will pick up a very good second hand Gun on here in the Shooting section and the Lads are sound you can even get started for around € 250.00 so your Budget will help go that bit further with the payment of your Licence € 80.00 for 3 years and will even buy you a Gun Cabinet at around €120 so just to get started may over all may only cost this total so spend wise best of luck.

Going to get a game gun. I've been clay shooting a few times and never really felt the urge to go again. Good craic though. I was gonna splash out 4/500 on the gun to get a decent one for rough shooting mostly ducks and birds. I'll scrape together the rest at some stage. A good second hand one seems the way to go.

you'd pick up a nice second hand rizzini within budget i'm sure, obviously not one of their ultra high end models but a nice reliable gun

Plenty of nice Lanbers on here for sale, well within your price range. Good Spanish guns, and before anyone tells you "Lanbers are heavy" Not all of them are, they also have a game range which are nice light and easily carried around and field.

Tried a lanber out. lovely gun but the stock was too short. Do you know if they are all like this or do different models have different length stock? The one I tried would need about a three inch extension on the end.

I'm sure you can get some sort of stock extender

This one only extends it by an inch but I'm sure you can get longer ones.
