Getting mould off clothes

    Hi guys,

    my favorite coat is somehow after growing tiny patches of mould as it was in the wardrobe for ages.....Anyone know of a good solution of getting mould off clothes? Don't want to get rid of it!:confused:

    Apparently leaving the clothes out in the sun will get rid of it, worked for me anyways. My converse had patches growing so I left them out in the sun (about 3 days) and the mold/awful musky smell was gone. I washed them afterwards and they've been fine since.

    I did this with a neighbours buggy fabric and it worked:
    The fabric was a plastic coated cotton.
    I have to be prepared for the chance of an accidental home birth..

    Try hanging it in your bathroom while running the shower and the steam helps lift the mould off. I tried this with a couple of old coats of mine that were sitting in a wardrobe in my parents' house for a while and it worked.

    Sun is the best for getting rid of mildew on clothing.

    However, this is Ireland in January :)

    I've used a dry cleaner for this before. Interestingly, some dry cleaners refuse to take clothing with any sort of mildew on it so ring beforehand. PM me if you want the one I used (in Dublin).
