I'm sure this has been discussed many times on here but I seen the below piece in the paper during the week and was wondering what are the pro's and con's of docking a dog's tail do you think it should be allowed or totally banned.. what's the advantages/disadvantages for different breeds of dogs etc?? also do you think it's right calling it barbaric?

Barbaric me hole, for a dog hunting thick cover its essential or else they will be always cutting their tail and getting hurt. Silly statments from people who dont know what they are on about. Never seen a pup give more than a small yelp getting it done and back playing and feeding nearly straight away

This type of sensationalism by these animal rights groups really sicken my ****e....misinformation...it is not completely banned in England as they say...they "forget" to mention that it is perfectly legal over there to have it done by a vet on working breeds...for the dogs own good I hasten to add.

When it is done at 2 or 3 days old on a pup there is barely a whimper and as was said above the pup is suckling on the mother or sound asleep..happy out a few minutes after...hardly a "barbaric" image....

If the same crowd saw pictures of springers with un docked tails bleeding they would be screaming that hunting with dogs in cover should be banned
