Any good deals out there on the above, budget is tight but would like the i3 as a minimum spec?

    Cheers.

Budget: How much you are willing to pay. More is not always better

Intended use: E.g. college work, internet, e-mail, Word processing, programming, games, development, whatever. It makes a big difference.

Mobility: Generally speaking, the smaller a laptop, the more you will pay for it. So if mobility is not important, make sure and state that

Warranty: Is a warranty important? Extended warranties tend to be expensive, do you need the piece of mind? Or would you rather wing it and fix the laptop yourself if something goes wrong? I would.

What Operating System do you use? If you are used to using a Windows based pc/laptop, chances are that is the best option. If you use Macs then you might lean towards buying a Mac.

Played with a I3-2330M Samsung 15.6" in PC world today. Although it has intel integrated graphics it is quite fast on the internet stuff and Youtube and would be more than adequate.
    Price reduced to 499.

Budget is sub €400, will be used for light photoshop and video editing. Pc as Macs are too expensive, came across this which looks like good value, any pitfalls with it. Need to use a projector with it too.

If sub 400 is your budget then this is yer only man. Not much out there in terms of i3 and sub 400.
Looked at the processor spec and it is compariable to the 2nd generation i3 in the Samsung.

If you could stretch your budget a little theres this http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Open_Box_-_Lenovo_IdeaPad_Z570_1164061.html.

Otherwise the one you posted would be fine.

That's great. Does anyone know if the company I linked to is ok to deal with?

If you're interested I have one going on adverts.
I've recently switched to an i5 with better connectivity. (only 2 USB and no HDMI on it)

Here's a link if you want to check it out.

I'm looking for something similar myself.

Anyone in the know able to say much about how an Intel® Core™ i3-370M Dual Core Processor compares to an AMD-450?
I picked up a HP Pavillion DM1 netbook just before Christmas and find it to be doin exactly what I need so I'm now looking at the same specs for a laptop and found this http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/HP_635_1166147.html

Just wondering how the HP 635 would compare with the Compaq Presario linked above?

Go to Notebookcheck.net, FAQ , processors. In terms of speed E450 is a rather long way down the list, a very long way :p. i3 is much better but stay away from i3-2.... UM versions which are much slower than the i3-2...M.

That website also has reviews of many laptops
