Too many Loyalty Cards

I now have more loyalty cards on my keyring than keys!
    I have a Dunnes Card,Tesco Card,Applegreen Card,Superquinn Card and a Super value card.
Why dont they just have one loyalty card that all stores/garages use and just issue you with vouchers to use in participating stores once or twice a year. Bit like Green Shield Stamps years ago, if you are old enough to remember them.

Don't worry OP, one day you'll have friends and real things to worry about.

This is a first world problem if ever I heard one. You know you don't have to sign up for every card going?

It's funny because you have multiple loyalty cards for the same store types.

You do realise these cards are just a way for each shop to keep a record of what you buy to use for marketing right?

I know that, but you will see a lot of people with several loyalty cards from supermarkets

Sounds like a damn good business opportunity to me, if one had access to the right infrastructure.

I suppose in this economy that's not a bad thing, people need to save when and where they can.

There is an idea for a business :pac:
    All in one Loyalty card.

Upload them onto your phone with the app.

My big objection to the Loyalty cards is that having analysed your shopping habits, they then send you vouchers for stuff you never buy!

Getting a voucher doesn't entice me to buy stuff I don't want or need and someone else out there is getting vouchers for stuff I want.

so..........if you agree with the above OR you're fed up with marketing intrusions into your private life: here's a revolutionary idea:

Swop cards at the till with someone else. Swap them regularly. Keep swopping them.

You might just get vouchers for things you DO buy, but you'll have struck an anti-marketing blow!

    (I'm serious, btw)

If you have umpteen loyalty cards thats your own fault for not being loyal enough, you'll just whoor out to any store within eyesight. Sick.

Tis funny though. I usually give my set of car keys riddled with loyalty cards to the checkout cashiers and its often happened they scanned the rivals card for the points. The look of the cashiers face does be priceless but hey it does provide a funny moment between cashier and customer :)
