Is it possible to drive a car that's been registered in another EU country? I failed to find any concrete info.

    I'm not an Irish Resident/citizen.

Can I pay the road tax if the car isn't registered in Ireland and not insured by an Irish company?

Sorry. I read what she said, but failed to understand. :D

I will be relocating to Ireland this summer and this probably means I'll need to have a domicile there for bills, accounts etc.

    What defines the above?

"A non-resident is someone who usually lives outside Ireland for at least 185 days each year" Source (See exemptions section)

If you are moving to Ireland permanently you will be able to re-register the car at no cost provided you have owned it for (i think ) 6 months and then be able to tax it etc. I think you'd need Irish Insurance.

If you are only moving temporarily (ie as a student perhaps) you wont need to tax it here at all as far as I know.

Basically if you are a turist you can bring your car up to one year as long as your taxes/nct/insurance are ok in your country and it's yourself who drives the car.

    Thanks, everyone.

Guess I'll have to buy and drive a 0.8L coffee grinder once I get there. :)
