I was on JSB but have picked up a part time job last week so have moved on to casual workers.

My partner is also currently unemployed so at the moment I get full rate of JSB with half dependent child with the days I work deducted and my partner gets a reduced rate of JSA with half a dependent child.

I was wondering would it make more sense for me to not claim and just have my earnings, would my partner then get the full rate of JSA + child dependent + claim for me as a qualified adult. I'm wondering which would be more beneficial financially?

As JSA is means tested against all income coming into your household I dont think you would be better off.

Thanks for the reply. Well the only income into the household is our JSB & JSA. I earn between €120-€150 a week from work.

Hello i'm wondering can any one help me. I have lost my job but now wondering if i work 2/3 times a week how much of my benefit gets cut. Have they got real strict? I found a link online but cant seem to believe it, the more you work as usual the less we get......only this time it looks a lot more WORSE! Any ideas please let me know. I get 188 a week JSA
