    Hi folks,

Anyone done a wine tasting in spain?

I would love some advice/ direction.

I would like to do a 3/4 day wine tasting.

I would prefer as rustic as possible, trying to avoid corporate angle on it.

    Many thanks!!

    ronan

Do you want to see Bodegas? Or just taste?

I haven't done formal tasting in Spain, but if France is anything to go by, there may be their equivalent of France's 'Maisons du Vin' - effectively a viticulturalists' union. We did a tasting in Bordeaux and it was excellent. I'm sure there's a similar offering in Lisbon, so no reason why these aren't also in Spain.

I found it excellent because it's where French winemakers, tasters, etc. train. It's non-commercial, the wine you taste is very good. Equipped with the knowledge gained in the classroom, you hit the road and follow your palette!

You may consider hitting the lesser-known regions, too. Rioja, I'm sure, is splendid, but why not visit the Ribera del Duero?
