How do these 2 courses differ? I know the MSc is full time but they are both level 9 qualifications and thus on a par, the post grad would suit me better as its just friday evening and saturday morning lectures so it would allow me to stay in work

Enviro Science details are here: http://www.naturalscience.tcd.ie/postgraduate/msc-enviro.php

    Enviro Engineering here: http://www.tcd.ie/civileng/postgraduate/diploma/environmental.php

You'll see a fairly obvious difference between the two courses. The Enviro Engineering course is given by the Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering Department so it would have an obvious emphasis on EIS & EIA and I would imagine would contain lecturers from that sector of Engineering. The MSc I can't comment about but it doesn't seem to be specific to a certain industry.

Dónal is fairly accurate with that description. The MSc is geared towards giving you a solid grounding in Biogeochemistry and ecology. It's a good course, intensive but good. The class is pretty small (<15 people each year) so you get to know everyone fairly well. I did the MSc about two years ago so feel free to PM me any questions you might have on it.

    El Siglo,

I'm considering for applying for the MSc this year. Saw from an older discussion that there had been people on the course with similar degrees to mine, BA in Geography, Sociology and Politics (NUIG). I was wondering what was your original degree in and what you are doing now having completed the course? Have you found work in something related or gone back to do further study. Do you know what others you were in the course with are doing?

    Thanks :-)
