    Hi all,

2 weeks ago I was stoped by the guards for an illegal right turn. They checked my licence, told me it's 60€ and asked if I was the owner (to be sure of the address).

Anyway they didn't leave me any receipt or whatsoever (not sure if it's normal, it's the first time I get a fine in Ireland). Now, I received nothing in the post. I'd be glad they 'forgot' me but what i don't want is getting the fine too late and having to pay 50% more.

Any thoughts ? Any way to double check i was 'actually' fined ?

My car is Irish and registered in my name, the tax book indicates the current address. I have a EU-licence, so I know I won't get penalty points, but I should receive that fine anyway.

    Thanks

It may take a little longer than 2 weeks. From what I gather anything up to 6 months.

Thanks OldmanMondeo, but the 28/56 day-limits are starting from the day of the offence, or the day the fine was sent/issued ?

Date of the notice, not the date of the offence.

You should normally hear within a month.

It's up to 6 months to apply for a summons, but they have longer than that to serve it.

For an illegal right turn it'll be a few months at most, as others said it's for date of notice not offence.

Penalty points, if they apply, aren't from date of offence or notice. You'll get a nice letter from the RSA saying you've penalty points from xxxxx date in the future.

Thanks for the answers. I assumed it was quicker than that. I'll just wait then :)
