I have an outdoor black pipe that comes up from the ground for the outside tap. I think the pipe is 20mm thick. I got a 22mm compression ring for it but it slides down the pipe cause Its too big? I don't think there is a 21mm or is there? I doubt id be able to get a 20mm onto a 20mm pipe or would I?

there is metric 22mm and 3/4" pipes. 22mm is slightly bigger than 3/4 (physically). Could this be any help to you?

Best thing is to bring a piece of the pipe to your local
plumbing suppliers. May need a poly adaptor or a Philmac fitting.

Philmac or simular is the best fitting. DIY or professional its an easy install.

I brought the pipe to the hardware and gave me another ring. Put that one on, turn on the mains and it seemed fine. Went back outside an hour later and the whole tap and all was off. Put electrical tape on the pipe to make it fit better, then put on the tap and it seems to be holding at the mo but still leaking a little bit. Il have to leave it till monday now see can I get a smaller ring. Il look into the philmac. Thanks :)
