Im in the market for a pair of decent binoculars. My ideal pair would be made by Leica or Swarovski but unless the bino fairy visits, it will remain a dream. So I have heard good things about Minox and Steiner. Anybody got a pair they want to move on? 8x42 would be my preference if anybody has a pair

Have a look at the kaps 8x42 binoculars on www.optics-trade.eu
I looked through a pair once and found them good.
407 euro with 25 year warranty.
The nikon monarch binoculars from the USA are good also
I think they are around 2 or 3 hundred dollars.

Thanks lads. I suppose the only way of testing binos is in as low a light as possible. hard to do that in a shop. You would really need both brands of binoculars at the same time to test. Hopefully have a few bob soon for a decent pair so anybody who has offered me a pair for sale, I will get back to them shortly
