    Guys,

    =======================================================

    I have a Galaxy ACE II with and external 8GB MicroSD card but the phone memory 188MB is nearly full.:mad:

    Is there anyway of moving apps from the phone to the SD card?
    I downloaded on app phone2SD i think it was called but that wouldnt move items to the MicroSD card. :eek:

    I have apps like hotmail, FB, Gmail, Skype, WhatsApp, TuneIn, ... installed and they are all on the phone memory :(

    ========================================================

    On the same phone I also have issue with speed, the phone can be very unresponsive at time, after just picking it up or during use. I use advance task killer, but this makes little or no difference ....

    ========================================================

    Any help on both issues would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Advanced task killer will be making things worse, remove it. Just just in built program monitor.

    I've mentioned this lifehacker article before about Android task managers before. It's a good read.

    Apps2SD and the like notwithstanding some apps can be moved to SD out of the box. You'll have to check Settings --> Applications --> Manage applications and check which apps have the "Move to phone storage" button available. I don't think any of those apps you mentioned can be moved to phone storage though.

    Only certain apps can be moved to the sd card, so I'm afraid after you've moved all those that can be moved over, you're just going to have to start deleting stuff.

    As stated already, auto task killers won't do much to help your speed issues. While they will close some apps, others will simply start up again as soon as they've been closed.

    Programs like Facebook, what's app etc. eat ram, and all run continuously in the background so they can intercept messages and what not.

    The best thing you can do is a factory reset and start from scratch, only installing the apps you regularly use.

    I know it might seem unpalatable to have to reinstall all you're apps again but it is the easiest/best way to get things running smoothly again.

    For these cheap android phones it probably better to root and use tools like apps2sd to fool Android into think it has more space than it actually does. I did this with my Samsung Galaxy Mini and its is fantastic. I had found previously that even with careful management of Apps, the space on the data partition in android just fills up, some apps (even if they can move to the SD card) still use up space on the phones data partition. But I now have more than enough space, works really well and the phone is fooled into thinking it has nearly 1GB of data.

    I think unfortunately phone manufacturers should be putting more memory into these phones, in lots of ways they are fooling the public into thinking they are "smartphones" but limitations like this really hurt peoples perception of the phone and the brand. I am sure it would only cost $5-$10 extra to put a 512MB partition at least for peoples apps.
