I got a new laptop from currys in the post Christmas sale - a hp g6 - since I've gotten it I've noticed its making a clicking noise, it doesn't sound too healthy almost like a dying hard drive.

is there any issue with hardrives or any known hardware faults with these?

are clicking noises normal? Its definitely not the fan and the laptop has never been dropped.

its the g6 with 6gb and 750gb harddrive i5 processor

If it sounds like this, it's on the way out.

The staff on their dedicated forum here on Boards are very helpful. Handy to have some of the legwork done before you even hit the store.

Hope and I mean hope, that you have it less than 21 days (that's low isin't it, most places are a month?) otherwise your're going down the Repair, Replace, Refund route. Looking at their Forum they are far from the best to deal with then.

    Don't buy HPs.
