HSE Paramedic pay scales and LSI

    Guys. What are the paramedic pay scales here for like trainee, year 1, year 2 etc... Also, what is this LSI I've seen mentioned ?

    If you google it you can find a pdf with all the salaries there.

    Do you even get paid while training?

    Jan 2010 - Existing payscale - EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN 1/01/10
    28,275 - 29,475 - 30,287 - 31,096 - 31,902 - 32,719 - 33,528 - 35,147 - (36,640 LSI)

    LSI is long service increment, payable after 3 years on max of scale

    Jan 2011 - New entrant payscale (less 10% on above) - EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNIClAN 1/01/11
    25,447 - 26,528 - 27,259 - 27,986 - 28,712 - 29,447 - 30,175 - 31,632 - (32,976 LSI)

    During training, new entrant Student Paramedics are paid point 1 of the scale for the entire duration of training (including intern year) (almost 2 years at point 1).

    Ah, thanks for that. It was the LSI that was confusing me. So once you reach the max on the scale (year 8/9 if you include year 1 training)...you wait 3 more years for the next and final pay increase right ?
