Samsung Galaxy Mini alarm won't ring

Hi Folks, Have a samsung galaxy mini that when you set the phone on it vibrates and the alarm clearly go's off but there is no ring. ie there is no tone. Now i have cheacked all the obvious ie The volume being up but outside that i really cant figure it. Has anyone head of this problem and if so what is the solution
